We were watching a Bollywood film today called, Kabhi Alvida nan kehna. It is directed by Karan Johar and stars, Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji and more. Its mis-en-scene is in New York and you can see this because of the skyscrapers and the landscape.

Through out the film we see a change of language. From Hindi to English. We see the older generation speaking Hindi to one another but they speak a mixture to the younger generation. The younger generation also speak a mixture to one another.

There’s cross cutting in the movie. We see it during the beginning when Dev is talking to the female protagonist. We also see a slow motion scene where Dev and Maya part. There are many closeups in this movie so that we can see the facial expressions of the characters, we see the love, and party in there faces.
