LO.2 – Be able to contribute to planning a performance
In order to gain marks, you should:
- Generate a number of musical ideas (ostinatos, chord sequences, melodies or rhythms) which link to the Bollywood, Bhangra and Indian classical music.
- Develop your ideas imaginatively – by using them as part of the finished piece, performing them alongside others’ ideas, and working out how they could sound more effective for the Bollywood theme.
- Work independently in the time allocated, but also be prepared to share your ideas and talk to others to develop them as a group.
LO.3 – Be able to contribute to the production of a performance
In order to gain marks, you should:
- Practise, and be able to perform, your own and others’ musical ideas competently on at least one of the instruments that you use.
- Try to show off any pre-existing musical skills in your performance – e.g. any piano skills or steel pan skills that you have learnt before.
- Ensure that you are focused and listening at all times to other group members and group leaders, to enable your performance to go as well as possible.
